ANN THOMPSON BIOGRAPHY

A native of North Carolina, Ms. Thompson is an associate practicing civil litigation throughout southeastern Louisiana.
Professional History
After opening her own law office following graduation from Tulane University Law School, Ann Thompson joined Greenberg & LaPeyronnie in 2010. She practices general civil litigation, with a particular focus on family law issues relating to domestic violence, and is a participating attorney in ARAG’s legal insurance plan and the Orleans public defender conflict panel.
Ms. Thompson is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the New Orleans Bar Association, and the Jefferson Bar Association. In addition to professional associations, Ms. Thompson serves on the St. Bernard Battered Women’s Program executive board, and is a member of the New Orleans Junior League and Young Leadership Council.
Education & Qualifications
Ann Thompson received a BA in English and a minor in photography from Appalachian State University in 2003. Ms. Thompson has traveled extensively; while earning her degree, she studied Spanish in Ronda, Spain for six months and later documented the Cuban slums in Havana and Santiago de Cuba while traveling on an academic visa.
She followed with a Juris Doctor from Tulane University Law School in 2008, where she received an academic scholarship. Ms. Thompson was an active student: she served as Vice President of Law Women, was an active member of Public Interest Law Foundation (PILF), Environmental Law Society, the International Law Society, and was nominated for Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities. She studied international law at Tulane's summer programs in Amsterdam and Paris, where she earned the Paris Institute Certificate in European Legal Studies. During law school, she was sworn into practice as a student attorney with the Tulane Law School Domestic Violence Clinic and practiced before the Orleans Parish Civil District Court.
